SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Associate Professor in Civil Law contributes to high-quality teaching, advanced legal research, academic advising, and community engagement within the College of Law. The incumbent supports the development and continuous improvement of the Bachelor of Law program and related postgraduate programs, in alignment with Fujairah University’s mission and UAE academic accreditation standards (CAA / OBEF).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Civil Law.
- Design, update, and deliver course content aligned with contemporary developments in Civil Law and accreditation requirements (CAA).
- Prepare course syllabi, lectures, assessments, and examinations in accordance with approved curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student performance using appropriate and fair assessment methods aligned with CLO–PLO mapping.
- Advise and mentor students on academic progression, legal skills, and research development.
- Supervise graduation projects and provide guidance on legal research topics.
- Conduct and publish high-quality research in reputable peer-reviewed journals in Civil Law and related fields.
- Contribute actively to curriculum development, program review, and accreditation processes.
- Participate in departmental and university committees, community engagement, and institutional activities.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness and research output.
SUPERVISION:
- Report to: Dean of the College of Law
- Subordinates: As assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Ph.D. in Civil Law from an accredited university.
- Must hold the academic rank of Associate Professor.
- Proven experience in university-level teaching.
- Strong research record with publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience in supervising graduation projects and/or research theses.
- Demonstrated engagement in academic service and curriculum development.
- Proficiency in English (teaching, research, and academic writing).
